Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine number OM656 is located at the junction of the block and the oil pan. Most of the problems here are related to the Camtronic variable valve timing system. In case of a breakdown, the drive electromagnets, controlled camshaft, and rockers are replaced. It does not tolerate poor diesel fuel, and the fuel system consists of a CR Bosch CP4 with piezo injectors. The intake valves and channels of the cylinder head quickly become clogged with carbon deposits from low-quality fuel. Environmental devices such as EGR, SCR, and DPF, as always, cause a lot of trouble.
