Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the R06A engine according to the catalog is 62 kg. The engine number R06A is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine is not often encountered, and it's not so easy with service and spare parts. Owners complain on the forum about the long warm-up time of the unit in winter. In versions with forced induction, the turbo often fails at mileage of 150-200 thousand km. The timing chain has a similar lifespan, and when it stretches, the valves bend. Small issues here can be related to sensors and not very reliable ignition coils.
