Engine Overview and Common Failures

The LE9 engine weighs 145 kg according to the catalog. The LE9 engine number is located on the oil filter housing. The main complaints from owners are related to the rather limited timing chain lifespan. The chain tensioner for the balance shafts is not known for its reliability (not included in the timing chain kit). If the chains are tightened too much during replacement, new phase regulators will need to be purchased. After 100,000 km of mileage, lubricant consumption due to ring deposits is often encountered. It is also worth noting the consistently appearing cracks on the exhaust manifold.
