Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine weight of the LAF according to the catalog is 145 kg. The engine number of the LAF is located on the oil filter housing. The most well-known problem of this power unit is high oil consumption. Oil consumption due to ring deposits can occur at mileages less than 100,000 km. Another weak point of the engine is the finicky crankcase ventilation system. It does not have a high resource and the timing chain is often replaced even before reaching 150,000 km. Like all direct injection engines, the intake valves quickly become clogged with carbon deposits.
