Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine weight of the 4G63 according to the catalog is 160 kg. The engine number of the 4G63 is located on the cylinder block. Most of the problems with this engine are related to the use of poor-quality oil. This is primarily manifested in the jamming of the balance shafts and the breakage of their belt. The broken balance shaft belt often gets caught under the timing belt and damages the engine. The balance shafts vibrate and destroy the power unit supports in front of the wedge. Poor or old lubricant significantly reduces the service life of hydraulic compensators. Another common problem is erratic idling due to throttle and IAC valve contamination. Complaints about cracks in the intake and exhaust manifolds are often found online.
