Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 3G81 engine is 87 kg (excluding accessories). The engine number 3G81 is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. Many versions of the engine are equipped with a Mikuni carburetor, and it needs to be properly adjusted. Owners on the forum often complain about oil consumption due to ring deposit formation. Even a short drive with low oil level can cause crankshaft bearing damage. Keep an eye on the cooling system, as any overheating can lead to cylinder head gasket failure. Also, check the condition of the timing belt, as its failure always results in valve interference.
