Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the ECE engine assembly is 185 kg. The ECE engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. The main problems are caused by the quirks of the piezoelectric injectors. Also, due to contamination, the turbocharger geometry often gets stuck. The timing belt lasts for 120,000 km, and its breakage usually results in an overhaul. On forums, owners complain about oil consumption of up to 1 liter per thousand kilometers. Like any modern diesel, the DPF and EGR cause a lot of trouble.
