Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the BJM engine assembly is 220 kg. The BJM engine number is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. It is a very reliable diesel, but the piezo injectors are demanding in terms of fuel quality. The system for changing the turbine geometry is known to be a weak point of the unit. It is very important to monitor the condition of the timing belt, as its breakage can cause valve damage. Leaks of lubricant through the seals or coolant through the flanges often occur. Additionally, condensate freezing in the engine soap is quite common during the winter period.
