Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the D7F engine according to the catalog is 82 kg. The engine number D7F is located at the junction of the block with the cylinder head. Electrical failures are the most common concern for owners of this reliable unit: here the air flow sensor, temperature sensor, and throttle position may fail. The timing belt should be replaced according to the manual every 120,000 km, but if it breaks earlier, it can cause valve damage. Therefore, it is advisable to regularly check its condition. Loud noises under the hood are usually caused by improperly adjusted valves, and to access them, the valve cover and intake manifold need to be removed and their gaskets replaced. Minor breakdowns are common in the auxiliary equipment of this power unit, often due to lubrication leaks and overheating caused by fan failure in the cooling system.
