Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the E7F engine assembly is 105 kg. The engine number E7F is located on the cylinder block. Electrical malfunctions are common, as with many old French engines. The main cause of these malfunctions is often corroded wiring or failure of a sensor. One known weak point of this engine is the throttle position sensor. Unstable operation is often caused by non-sealed vacuum tubes, a crack in the distributor cap, a clogged fuel pump mesh, and an air intake leak. Other weak points include careful monitoring of oil leaks from seals and the condition of the timing belt, as valve damage can occur if it breaks. And don't forget to regularly check the thermal clearances.
