Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 300Tdi engine in assembly is 250 kg. The engine number for the 300Tdi is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This is a simple and reliable diesel, and all its problems arise only from high mileage. In the early years of the engine, the timing belt often slipped, so a repair kit is recommended for them. Do not turn off the engine immediately after driving, otherwise the turbo will not last very long. There are also frequent complaints about the vacuum pump, coolant leaks, and blown head gasket. Don't forget to replace the timing belt and adjust the valve clearances every 80,000 km.
