Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 20T2N engine according to the catalog is 159.7 kg. The engine number 20T2N is located at the junction of the block and the cylinder head. This diesel engine is reliable, but there are problems with quality service and spare parts. The main concerns are related to failures of the electronically controlled Bosch VP37 fuel injection pump. The next common issue is the turbocharger which often leaks oil by the time it reaches 100,000 km. The timing belt needs to be changed every 100,000 km or if it breaks, it can bend valves. Weak points of this unit include short-lived supports and oil radiator pipes.
