Engine Overview and Common Failures

The engine weight of 306D1 according to the catalog is 220 kg. The engine number 306D1 is located near the oil filter. The engine is fuel quality sensitive, but with proper maintenance, it lasts a long time. Constant condensation on the hoses or the PCV valve causes a lot of trouble here. The swirl flaps in the intake manifold can detach and fall directly into the cylinders. Sudden crankshaft failure is not uncommon after covering over 200,000 km. Electric vacuum supports and the crankshaft damper pulley are considered weak points of the engine.
