Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the M279 engine according to the catalog is 280 kg. The M279 engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine has not been in production for long enough to gather breakdown statistics. Finally, expensive ignition blocks are a thing of the past, now there are dual coils. Thanks to the distributed fuel injection, the engine has no problems with coking. There are already reports on foreign forums about the cylinder lining of such an assembly after scuffing. Owners also complain about the timing chain stretching before reaching 150,000 km.
