Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the 3B20T engine is 69 kg (without attachments). The engine number 3B20T is located on the cylinder block. For such a tiny turbocharged engine, this engine is quite reliable without any weak spots. It is very important to monitor the cooling system as overheating can quickly lead to a blown head gasket. Lubrication often leaks into the spark plug wells due to hardened sealing rings. After 150,000 km mileage, oil consumption and timing chain stretching are common issues. There are no hydraulic compensators, and valve clearances need to be adjusted every 100,000 km.
