This engine is very reliable, but it is difficult to find a service that will take on its repair. The turbines cause the most problems: their lifespan is modest, while they are quite expensive. Another weak point of the diesel engine is the flow meters, which need to be replaced frequently. Loss of power or unstable engine operation suggests contamination of the AGR valve. The valves in the oil cup and the crankcase ventilation system often cause concerns as well.
