Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the D4164T engine according to the catalog is 150 kg. The engine number D4164T can be found in two places. In the engines of the first years of production, the rocker arms of the camshafts quickly wore out. It was also common for the chain between the camshafts to stretch, causing the timing to go off. The turbo often fails, usually due to clogging of its oil filter. The cause of carbon deposits lies in weak refractory washers under the injectors. Other problems are related to the contamination of the particulate filter and EGR valve.
