Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the engine 10FD53 as a whole is 130 kg. The engine number 10FD53 is located on the cylinder block. The main problems for the owner are caused by the whims of the Delphi fuel system. Due to camshaft chain stretching, the injection phases in the engine often get out of sync. The IHI turbocharger with variable geometry does not have a very long lifespan here. Pay attention to the condition of the timing belt, as its breakage can easily damage the valves. The crankshaft damper pulley and the EGR membrane are also considered weak points of the engine.
