The weight of the D16AA engine assembly is 174 kg. The engine number D16AA is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. One known, but rare problem with such engines is the air entrainment of the oil pump. The culprit is the disintegration of the sealing ring between the oil sump and the pump. Fuel entering the lubricant during the regeneration of the diesel particulate filter is also a common occurrence. After 100,000 km, the EGR cooler often leaks, and sometimes its cover simply bursts. On high mileage, the EGR valve frequently becomes completely clogged and seized.
