Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the LFX engine according to the catalog is 175 kg. The engine number LFX is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. It is a fairly reliable power unit, except for its high fuel consumption. The only weak point of the engine is the not very high resource of the timing chain. For enthusiasts who frequently start from a standstill, the chains may need to be replaced as early as 50,000 km. Like all direct injection engines, it is prone to carbon buildup on the valves. Try to avoid severe overheating or lubrication leaking from all seals.
