The 3.6-liter V6 General Motors LGX engine has been produced at the factory in Michigan since 2015 and is installed in popular models such as Cadillac XT5, XT6, CT6, and Chevrolet Camaro. The modification of this engine for Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups is designated as LGZ. The High Feature engine family also includes: LLT, LF1, LFX, LFY, and LY7.

Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the LGX engine according to the catalog is 180 kg. The LGX engine number is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This engine recently appeared and has not been marked by any serious breakdowns so far. The only known weak point of the unit is the short-lived thermostat. It is worth noting frequent glitches in the start-stop system, as well as failures of the temperature sensor. Like all direct injection engines, it is prone to carbon deposits on the valves.
