Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the A22DM engine assembly is 220 kg. The engine number A22DM is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. First of all, the CR Delphi fuel system is very demanding in terms of diesel fuel quality. It does not have a long service life and the timing chain is sometimes replaced as early as 150,000 km. There are versions with a controlled oil pump that can cause a lot of trouble. This pump often jams and sends debris throughout the system. Problems with the intake manifold, EGR, and DPF are common for many diesel engines.
