Engine Overview and Common Failures

The weight of the A13DTE engine according to the catalog is 135 kg. The engine number A13DTE is located at the junction of the block and the gearbox. This diesel engine is quite cold-prone and its operation is difficult in winter. The timing chain mechanism has a modest lifespan and is sensitive to oil level drops. EGR valve contamination leads to the engine stalling immediately after starting. Thermostat leaks are often encountered, which are the main cause of overheating. When the diesel particulate filter is burned, fuel enters the oil and it needs to be changed.
