Engine Overview and Common Failures

Engine weight 3A91 according to the catalog is 92 kg. The engine number 3A91 is located at the junction of the block with the gearbox. In the early years, there were problems with fluctuating speeds, but they were all fixed with firmware updates. The main issues with this power unit are only related to lubricant consumption. The thin piston rings begin to wear out at around 100,000 km and oil consumption occurs. After 150,000 km, the timing chain often requires replacement, most commonly with a phaser regulator. There are no hydraulic compensators here, so don't forget about adjusting the valve clearances.
