Engine Overview and Common Failures

The dry weight of the MR479Q engine according to the catalog is 126 kg. The MR479Q engine number is located to the right of the exhaust manifold. This motor is structurally very reliable, but its assembly quality often lets it down. The sensors, attachments, and ignition system components have a modest lifespan. The timing belt can break at a mileage of 50,000 km, luckily the valves are not bent here. The oil seals usually wear out by 80,000 km, causing oil consumption. There are no hydraulic lifters here, and the valves need to be adjusted or they will burn out.
