Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior The paintwork here is thin and easily chipped, but the body holds up well. The chrome coating is not durable and the headlights quickly become worn. The materials in the interior are very high quality and resistant to wear, plus nothing squeaks. As for the drawbacks, the sound insulation is not great and the seats quickly sag. Engine Problems with cylinder scoring remain and affect all components of this model. The 2.0-liter G4ND engine is also equipped with a very temperamental CVVL system. The 2.4-liter G4KJ direct injection engine is known for its low lifespan of the fuel pump. The 2.0-liter turbocharged G4KH engine most commonly experiences issues with the turbocharger and air ducts. Transmission The 6-speed manual transmission M6CF3 is rare but quite reliable. The only complaint from owners is the quick stretching of control cables. The 6-speed automatic transmissions A6MF1, A6MF2, and A6LF1 are also not considered problematic. However, be careful with the delicate transmission oil pan, as it can be easily punctured on rough roads. Suspension The suspension is very reliable, with even the shock absorbers and stabilizer bushings lasting up to 100,000 km. The rear springs do not tolerate overloading, which reduces their lifespan several times. The front brake discs and pads have a short lifespan, but they are inexpensive.
