Overview and Common Failures
Body and Interior
The paint coating is thin, and plastic moldings are not provided here. However, the body of the car is galvanized and does not rust quickly for undamaged specimens. The interior is nice and spacious, with comfortable seats and no ergonomic miscalculations. However, the quality of some finishing materials is quite weak, as well as the sound insulation.
Engine
Both gasoline engines have a simple design and rarely bother owners. A common problem with the engine is the appearance of scoring due to catalyst destruction. For enthusiasts of excessively dynamic driving, the timing chain can stretch very quickly.
Transmission
The six-speed manual transmission is reliable and does not have pronounced weak points. However, the automatic proved to be raw and often jerked during gear changes in the first years.
Suspension
The suspension is not known for its reliability, but spare parts are inexpensive and widely available. The stabilizer struts, ball joints, and wheel bearings do not serve for long here. Due to design flaws in the rear suspension, the sedan behaves dangerously on the highway.
Braking system
There are no special complaints about the braking system, except that its hoses can deteriorate. The plastic bushing in the steering rack breaks quickly, leading to knocks.
