Kia Carnival 4

The fourth-generation Kia Carnival in the KA4 body is produced in South Korea and China since 2020, but our modification debuted only in 2021, and its production was launched in Kaliningrad. The technically similar Hyundai Staria minivan was built on the same platform. The Carnival family also includes: GQ (1998 - 2006), VQ (2005 - 2014), and YP (2014 - 2021).

Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior: The paintwork is weak and prone to chipping, but the body is galvanized and does not rust. Owners only complain about the soft glass, as it scratches too easily. The large and very functional interior delights with options and finishing materials. On a specialized forum, the minivan is criticized only for insufficient noise insulation. Engine: The 2.2-liter D4HE diesel engine appeared recently and has not been marked by any major breakdowns. It is worth noting its noisy operation and high requirements for fuel quality. The 3.5-liter G6DU engine with distributed injection is also completely new. The only weak point of this engine is its very high fuel consumption. Transmission: The 8-speed A8LF1 and A8LF2 automatic transmissions are known only from their best side. However, both 8-speed ATs are tuned for comfortable driving and greatly reduce dynamics. Suspension: The suspension is soft and may be slightly short-travel, and it is too early to talk about reliability. Owners have no special complaints about the braking system and steering.
