Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior: The paintwork is thin and quickly gets chipped, but the body itself does not rust. Complaints are usually about easily scratchable windows and constant fogging of headlights. The minivan's interior is huge and functional, with decent finishing materials. However, its wear resistance is not great, especially the light-colored leather that quickly loses its appearance. Regarding the electrical system, there are no major issues, with occasional complaints about a glitchy stereo. Engine: The 2.2-liter diesel D4HB, with proper maintenance, can cover hundreds of thousands of kilometers. However, expensive piezo injectors fail due to poor-quality fuel, followed by the fuel pump. Typical diesel problems with the particulate filter and EGR should also not be forgotten. The 3.3-liter V6 engine G6DH, installed in American versions, is quite reliable. The main complaints on forums are related to oil consumption and the limited lifespan of chains. The engine has direct gasoline injection (GDi) and intake valves that quickly get carbon deposits. Transmission: The 6-speed automatic transmissions A6LF2 and A6LF3 are known for their reliability and durability. However, it is highly recommended to change the oil more frequently and avoid aggressive driving at traffic lights. The 8-speed automatic transmission A8LF2 caused a lot of trouble in the first year of production. But then the gearbox was upgraded, and complaints on the forum practically disappeared. Suspension: The suspension is soft but short-travel, providing a good ride only on highways. On rough roads, the weight takes its toll, especially on the shock absorbers, which have a short lifespan. The steering rack is not the most reliable, and noises at 100,000 km mileage are considered normal. Braking system: There are no particular complaints about the braking system, except for the somewhat limited lifespan of the brake pads.
