Overview and Common Failures
Body and Interior: The paintwork is thin and prone to chipping, but the body itself is well-built. On forums, there are often complaints about the weak chrome coating and foggy headlights. The interior of the crossover is quite spacious, comfortable, and impressively equipped. However, the cheap materials used in the upholstery are not very durable. The electrical system in the cabin frequently malfunctions, especially the multimedia system. Daytime running lights and the fuel tank lid mechanism also tend to fail.
Engine: The 2.4-liter gasoline engine G4KE is quite reliable, but it does have a weak spot. The main issue is the frequent failure of the connecting rod bearings due to oil pressure drops. The 2.2-liter turbo diesel D4HB is also good, but it requires high-quality diesel fuel. If anything other than the recommended fuel is used, the high-pressure fuel pump tends to fail. Typical diesel problems with the diesel particulate filter and EGR valve are also present.
Transmission: The 6-speed manual transmission M6GF2 is not very common, but it doesn't cause much trouble. The 6-speed automatic transmissions A6MF2 and A6LF3 have a good reputation. The main issues here lie with the components of the all-wheel-drive transmission. Weak points include the Dynamax electromagnetic clutch and spline connections.
Suspension: The suspension performs adequately, and the most important aspect is that the spare parts are affordable and readily available. However, the stabilizer bushings need replacement before reaching 100,000 km, and the wheel bearings are often changed as well. The rear shocks and springs are on the weaker side, so it's best not to overload the car. Overall, there are no major complaints about the braking system, except for the regular corrosion of the handbrake. The steering rack may make noise up to 50,000 km, but it doesn't affect its performance significantly.
