Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior: The paint coating may be weak, but the body is galvanized, and chips do not yellow for a long time. Criticisms on forums often target the soft glass and quickly clouding chrome coating. The interior, with its decent appearance, pleases owners with good finishing materials and assembly quality. However, some areas like door panels feature rigid plastic. Electrical issues such as stereo system and power window malfunctions are common, along with complaints about factory wipers and parking sensor failures.

Engine: The 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine CZEA is generally reliable, but there are some weak points, including lubricant consumption and actuator wedge clearance. Engines with the AST system are prone to accelerated wear of camshaft lobes. The new 1.4-liter turbocharged unit DJKA hasn't shown any specific problems. The 1.6-liter naturally aspirated motor CWVA, although known from previous models, may have had oil consumption issues in its early years, now becoming rare. However, frequent lubricant and coolant leaks are still reported.

Transmission: The 6-speed manual gearbox MQ200, paired with the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated unit, is generally reliable but dislikes wheel spins and has a weak differential. Automatic transmissions like DQ250 and DQ381 are mostly problem-free today, lasting up to 200 - 250 thousand km or more with frequent oil changes. AQ160 and AQ300 automatic transmissions by Aisin are also considered reliable but require regular oil changes, preferably every 60,000 km. The all-wheel-drive system generally has no major issues except for occasional lubricant leaks.

Suspension: The crossover's suspension is somewhat stiff, but its components are currently reliable. Modest ground clearance and short-lived stabilizer struts are notable. Overall, owners do not have significant complaints about the braking system or steering control.
