Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior The paintwork is thin and prone to chips, but the body is galvanized and does not rust. However, due to the thin metal, even leaning on it can leave a dent. Another weak point is the rear door, which is often repainted under warranty. The interior design is attractive, but spacious only in the front, and the trunk space is minimal. The finishing materials are cheap, the plastic is hard, and not resistant to wear and tear. There are few issues with the electrical system, with only the steering wheel heating frequently malfunctioning. Engine The 1.0-liter G3LA engine is very reliable and can easily reach up to 250,000 km without major problems. Like most 3-cylinder engines, it is noisy and prone to vibrations. The 1.2-liter G4LA engine, with its 4 cylinders, is slightly more comfortable to use. Both engines are known for their low timing chain lifespan and powertrain mount durability. Transmission The 5-speed M5EF2 manual transmission is reliable, but occasionally suffers from oil leaks. Frequent and abrupt starts can quickly affect the synchronizers' condition. The 4-speed A4CF0 automatic transmission has a decent lifespan with careful usage. However, active drivers may require significant repairs by 60,000 km. This automatic transmission is also known for unreliable sensors and less durable supports. Suspension The suspension is stiff and tuned for handling like European compacts. Up to 50,000 km, stabilizer bushings and strut mounts often need to be replaced. Up to 100,000 km, steering tie rod ends and shocks are frequently changed. Braking system and steering No major issues have been found so far.
