Overview and Common Failures
Body and Interior The paint coating is weak and quickly chips, but the body itself does not rust much. Owners often note only slight swelling under the paint on the fifth door. The interior materials are decent, and the trim options are filled with features. The forum complains about the poor sound insulation, short seat cushions, and modest trunk space. In addition, the steep angle of the windshield affects visibility negatively.
Engine The 1.5-liter GW4B15 and 2.0-liter GW4C20NT turbo engines are considered quite reliable. The only drawback is the high fuel consumption with a tank capacity of only 56 liters. There have been cases of turbine failure due to bent blades or a ruptured hose. A recall campaign was conducted to replace the fuel pipes due to a series of fires.
Transmission The 7-speed robotized gearbox GW7DCT1 with dual wet clutches is also quite reliable. Complaints can be found about its sluggishness or jerky operation in traffic jams. There are reports online of the transmission going into emergency mode due to overheating. The all-wheel drive system with BorgWarner NexTrac electromagnetic clutch is good.
Suspension The crossover's suspension is quite firm, but there are no major reliability issues. The original Tokico shock absorbers may fail before reaching 100,000 km, but there are aftermarket alternatives. The steering rack often makes noise even at low mileage, but it does not significantly affect driving. The brake discs and pads are not very durable, so it is better to install non-original ones.
