Overview and Common Failures

The body of the car resists corrosion well, but has a weak paint coating which leads to quick appearance of chips. Drivers also complain about the low ground clearance. Interior The interior elements wear out easily, making it easy to determine the mileage. Seat and mirror heaters often malfunction, and the cable controlling the airflow can come off the disc. Engine I haven't had to choose an engine, but there have been few complaints about the F16D4: low lifespan of the phase regulator, oil and coolant leaks, electrical malfunctions. Transmission The manual D16 gearbox is generally reliable, except for occasional leaks. However, the 6T30 automatic transmission is not satisfactory. You can read all about its issues in a separate article. Suspension In the front suspension, only the stabilizer struts are frequently replaced, while the rear has many weak points: the shocks and the bushings of the beam, which last only up to 50,000 km. There may be noise from the front brake caliper brackets or rusted heat shields of the exhaust system. The former can be replaced, the latter can be discarded.
