Lada 4x4 in the VAZ 21314 body appeared after renaming the five-door Niva in 2006 and was manufactured both at the Avtovaz factory in Togliatti and at the Asia Avto company in Kazakhstan. At the end of 2020, this off-road vehicle was renamed as Lada Niva Legend 5D. The Niva family also includes: 21214 (2006 - 2021) and 2123 (2020 - present).

Engine The 1.7-liter VAZ 21214 engine is not known for its reliability, but the parts are inexpensive. It is necessary to carefully monitor its cooling, as the cylinder head tends to overheat quickly. Constant leaks of lubricant, antifreeze, and gasket burnout cause many problems. Weak points of the engine include hydraulic lifters, as well as the timing chain tensioner. Transmission The 5-speed manual transmission VAZ 21214 often requires repairs at 50,000 km mileage.
