Overview and Common Failures

Body and Interior: The paint coating here is very thin, but the body is galvanized and does not rust quickly. The weak points include the lower part of the fenders and door edges, especially the fifth one. The materials used for the interior are decent, but many owners complain about assembly flaws. There are also frequent complaints on forums about poor sound insulation in the wheel arches and a small trunk size. Users also note frequent malfunctions of the onboard computer and low quality of the factory-installed music system. Engine: The 1.5-liter turbocharged GW4G15B engine has proven itself quite well. The only complaint is its high fuel consumption despite having a small fuel tank. Transmission: The 6-speed manual transmissions CM52 and CS12 are quite good, but there is one weak point. There are numerous cases reported online of clutch replacement before reaching 50,000 km. The 6-speed automatic transmission 6F24 from Hyundai has a very good reputation. However, sometimes it fails to disengage from parking and requires turning off the engine and restarting it. All-Wheel Drive System: The all-wheel drive system with BorgWarner electromagnetic clutch is quite reliable. Suspension: The car's suspension provides a comfortable ride, but the lifespan of some components is not very long. Ball joints, stabilizer struts, and shock absorbers are usually replaced before reaching 100,000 km. The steering rack is reliable, although its tie rods and end links don't last very long. The brake discs and pads are weak, and it is better to choose something from the aftermarket as a replacement.
