Renault Symbol 2

The second generation Renault Symbol in the L35 body style was produced in Bursa, Turkey from 2008 to 2012 and was only an update of the previous generation model, with practically only a difference in the body. Overview and Common Failures

The engine, with its cast iron block and 16-valve head with hydraulic compensators, is generally reliable, but there are concerns about regular electrical failures, lubricant and coolant leaks. The 1.6-liter 16-valve K4M engine only differs in displacement from the one described above. Both engines bend valves in the event of a timing belt failure and have low bearing life. In Europe, the 1.2-liter D4F engine and the 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine gained popularity. Transmission Most of these sedans were equipped with 5-speed manual transmissions JB1 and JB3. Their weak point is the left drive shaft seal, which often leaks oil. The 4-speed automatic transmission DP0 has an extremely bad reputation among the people, but it works quite well on the small Symbol with its low-power engines.
